For sure no one would say that Professor Cheng Man Ching is wrong in his teachings. Moving from the waist or our Dan Tien is not in opposition to our movement growing out of our roots. Tai chi is all about cultivating our internal energy. Felt in the body simply means that the upper body is moved by the control at the hips/waist not on it's own or first. Expressed in the arms and hands just means that the arm and hand movement is being driven by our internal energy and not moving or driving on their own. I don't find these principles to be in any way at odds to good skiing fundamentals, whether they are your MSRT or simply good modern skiing. Give it time Gary. Remember where we want to go eventually is one part moves, all parts move, driven by our intent.
Yes I do agree that the core and the pelvic floor (western terminology) have much to contribute to our skiing and control below the waist. Not something that is very acceptable at this point in time. Later, RicB.
