Looking for old Olin Mark Skis I,II, IV, V, VI, VII (I got the III's on the way) . I want to make a chair and I thought those would be a fun ski to use.

That's going to be cool! I loved the orange MK IVs in the day. Those and the head Yahoos...good times! I'll keep an eye out at garage sales and will send leads your way.

Sorry, my father had some, long since thrown away. I saw a real sign of the times the other day.....a chair made from shaped skis! Big gaps between the slats!

I really miss those skis (at least that's what my memory says). I had many that went through my quiver when I was in my teens. The best were the Olin Mark VI Comp SL (I think - the black ones with white lettering and the snub nose).

Luck to you in getting an Olin chair built.

Thank god you did not ask for the Mark III’s. I did not want to separate them from the original black Look turntables with safety strap.

Oh, and correct me here, but wasn’t their “soft” version of some of the models? If so you may have enough timber left over for a foot stool and side table.

There was a Mark III "S". I had a pair, it was a dark blue vs. the bright blue of the regular III.

Phil, go skiing Christmas week, you're still bound to see a pair of Mark IV's in action waiting in the liftline. Make them an offer.

thanks for the heads up. Not Sure when I can make it to Bahston. I appreciate the offer to pick up, let me think about it. Do you make it to Killingoton ot Okemo often?

If my memory serves me, the Mark II race ski was one stiff son-of-a-gun! You might need a diamond saw to cut it!
still lookin'?
Does anyone have "blue prints" for making a chair out of skis? What is the best way to cut them down / position the skis so you don't have sharp edges to slice up the user?

You can buy plans here: http://www.skichair.com/skiplans/skiplans.asp

Or convince Phil to share his secrets...

ooooof and the 626's were some of the worst bindings ever.
The ad says "Great for kids"

If I saw kids on those skis I would think seriously of calling Child Protective Services on the parents.

I might have to go for the $50 Health Rider tho, just for the Shopping Channel Fitness Ornament nostalgia, circa 1995.
