Winter Park coverage

My wife and I will be skiing over Thanksgiving at Copper, Winter Park, or both. I noticed on WP's web site that they had very limited terrain open though it looked like there had been decent snowfall. Did any of you go to opening day yesterday? If so, did it look like other terrain was about ready to open? I would like to spend at least two days there next week, but it does not look worth the drive if they only have the current terrain open.

more should be opening

I did not get out yesterday. I was hard at work . The rumor is that the Zephyr lift will be open this Saturday and some of the Mary Jane should be open on Wed the 22nd. Thats all know for now. The parking lots have changed a bit the only Pay lot is the village lot. Blue spruce and lone tree are free parking. The Vintage lot at the main entrance is huge now. All of the free lots have busses running constantly. Have fun at Winter Park!

I saw the limited run openings also and decided to go to Copper yesterday instead. Copper has a decent amount of terrain open already and I would suspect that within the week they'll have quite a bit more, but you should wait for some of our Copper locals who are much more in the "know".

Thanks for the response Meg.

One of the things I like the best about WP is parking on the Jane side in the Corona lot with the easy in and out access. If just the WP base is open, and the limited coverage, it would be a toss-up with Copper as to where to go.
