Here's my confusion, the consensus I've read is that temperature should be kept at 120-125 F.
For now, the actual temperature is irrelevant, and lets not discuss the effects of the heat on bindings and the skis themselves, what I'm interested in, is what are we trying to do with the hotbox?
If we're trying to get the maximum amount of wax into the base shouldn't the temperature of the hot box be warm enough to keep the wax in atleast a semi liquid state. How else is it going to penetrate the base?
If the wax is absorbed in some other way, what is it?
If we're trying to do something else, what is it?
I'm willing to throw some swap skis in and test some theories, but what before I do I'd like to get a better feel for exactly what's going on.
