Kimberley. This is our first trip there and will be heading out in Jan. Firstly, where to start on those mtns for Intermediate/advanced skiers? What is Fairmont like? We will ski the local hill there as well. Is there a grocery store to buy stuff for the condo. Any good restaurants in the area??
Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks to all!

pano, kimb, and fairmont all have good int terrian, lots of groomed, (kimberly has the most "off piste"

Fairmont to pano = 30-45 minute drive

to kimb = 45 minutes

fernie is a bit more as is sunshine, lake louise, golden (kicking horse)

should be warm, buy dry in that area

I'd suggest the Blue Dog Cafe in Invermere (closest town of consequence to Fairmont and on the way to Panorama). If you are heading out to Fairmont from Calgary, you'll pass through Radium Hot Springs on the way. After you turn south you'll see a pretty good grocery store on the left (east) side of the road. Alternatively you can shop in Kimberley or Invermere when you're doing your touring to those hills.

Kimberley has some nice restaurants (including a great tappas place whose name I forget). Panorama has a couple of nice spots to eat as well. I can't vouch for what's at Fairmont as I've only driven through on the way to bigger hills.
