She was 18th on the first run, and turned in the 4th fastest second run.

Good to see Jelusic in there since Janica is sitting the season out. That 1-2-3 for the Austrians gives credence to the "quiet eye" technology and the weather balloon wireless network efforts. Do you remember an old saying on the USST from the seventies? Something like this: "it's hard to beat a rich kid".

Top 5 placing Austrian girls
Duh, I don't like the straighter courses for the girls. They put in 5 more gates than the season before. They as well made the women slalom same lenght than the mens slalom.

Must say that watching slalom now gets pretty boring. Everyone basically skis the same now, I think stance width got one more time closer together. Course is far to straight to be fun to watch.
I hope the mens race will be more interesting tomorrow

Stieglers second run was pritty awsome but the Austrians were in a class of their own. Also the German and the Swedish girls did well. They all have strong teams.

extremcarver, I would be worried if I was bored after watching the first race in the season.....

Yeah, I thought that breakover and steeper pitch (especially at those speeds and that offset) was plenty exciting

Seems lile the course was well injected :

Go, Resi!

She can ski with those girls. I'm predicting a slalom win sometime this season.

I was greatly disappointed that there were no photos of tiger ears on those links, however. :

March 10: 63/62 Gates - 48./48. winning times
March 11: 57/57 Gates - 48/48. winning times
Nov 11: 64/59 Gates - 52./52. winning times -

The courses must've been really straight last year!

The Vertical drop (180m) for the women is the same as the men.

Yep Bob, I agree! She'll get one this year.

No tiger ears, but she had her "hip shimmy" goin' on in the finish.... and a wonderfully bright smile!

The stream from wcsn was good.

We have been able to watch on tv all week how they prepare the pist. Never seen the injection before, cool. Today at the mens event it was a bit warmer so the snow was a little bit softer but yesterday it was hard as heck .
