Your strategy to get it to start snowing...

Many of us have various techniques, rites, superstitions, etc. to invoke the ski gods to produce snow before the season starts. I'd like to know what you all do to invoke POW to begin falling. (A somewhat self-serving thread because I'm going to use any ideas you all come up with...)

wash my car...(seriously, it seems like everytime I wash my car it snows or rains depends on the time of the year)
speaking of which I need to do.

I think I'm just going to start praying for a miracle. If I get fresh powder here in Alabama, God's gotta be the only reason.

I put my skis back into storage. I just couldn't look at them anymore with this sunny warm weather. Car washing is good too.

Still have summer tires on the car. That should trigger a big dump.

I quit shaving every year in October. Usually remove the beard after the local hills are open. Just letting Jack Frost know I'm ready.

Washing the car usually works. If that fails, I usually sacrifice a goat to Ullr.

I like the car idea, seems every time i washed my car and took the time to dry it (black car) it would rain that night. "No Shave November" is definately in full swing here at the colorado school of mines. Dont think its for snowfall, but sounds good to me.

As long as I don't wax my skis... :

Seems like nearly every first trip out is on last year's wax & tune. I always "forget" the last waxing (storage-type) of the year - mostly out of depression I think...

two things:
1. plan to do a lot of running. usually rains/snows; murphys law.
2. spend as much time as possible outside in my boxers. also usually rains/snows, but i think thats just God's way off telling me he doesnt really need to see that.

I keep procrastinating putting the ski carrier on my vehicle.

When my toe nail fully grows back from last year it will be time to ski again. It is right to the top and almost completely healed. I'll be skiing in two weeks.
The fact it is finally dumping in the nearby mountains with more storms coming has nothing to do with it . It is because my toe nail is almost healed.

Er, um.....let go, and let God?

I don't use my power to control the weather anymore, as it becomes increasingly erratic the more I seek to influence it. I mean, is it worth creating a snowstorm if it creates drought and famine elsewhere? I think the best anyone can do is to get all their own ducks in a row and be thankful for what comes. I tend to pray for an average snow year.

I refuse to wear long pants untill open day "yes its cold"...Usually stop on 11/1 .

I have an ancient pair of Olin Mark 7's. They delaminated long ago, and I have found that when I pull pieces of the wood core out and burn 'em that often gets it snowing---maybe I need to fire up some lighter fluid???:

First weekend in December, summer tires off the cars and the ski box goes on!

yeah, wear shorts and sandels, and ride your bike to work. Murphy's law will do the rest.

These days I think snow too often and try to refrain from snow magnetics thoughts. I assume at times I'll get a chance to meet and great then sometimes eat a bit on those unexpected face plants.
It can proceed me or follow-me, immerse me in its infinite variety.
Iguess I can just get back to sleep on it a bit more, though.
take what life gives you, v.varmit appreciate it

Actually, with the amount of material that is missing out of them they're down to about V and-a-half 's!!

Based upon some posts so far the odds of snowfall increase if you wash your car sporting a full beard while praying to God…wait, that’s not fair…for the ladies…pray a bearded God hears your significant other frantically praying for snow while washing your car. That will work just fine. Good Skiing.

I go with the Murphy's Law premise and purposely not take out my show shovels from the basement or prepare my snowblower.

If all else fails, I ask Santa for an early Christmas present.

Leave where I am. Like everytime I go on vacation and we get one of two snow storms for the year at home.
