An Auction of a different type: Buy a Volant Shirt for Volant Addict!

Some know before there was our own Volant Addict here, I was the Volant answer guy. From 96-03 or so I was a Tech/Area rep for Volant. I skied the steel exclusively, if you have any questions, do a search. I have long since passed the torch to VA. In the past I have sent VA some Volant trinkets from time to time. One of my last prized Volant items is a real nice button down dress shirt. Now granted this has been worn but it is in perfect condition and dry cleaned exclusively.

I would like Volant Addict to have it..but. I will not let it go for nothing. You (his friends) have to bid on it. Again as all prior and future Epic auctions, the proceeds will go to make Epic a better place for all of us. Lets see who wants VA to have it the most. I am sure that he will be eternally greatful. Just as a note, I do have a few Volant items that I will include if the top bid is "Phil worthy".

I will start the bidding at $8.10 and the bidding will rise in $1.00 increments. The Auction will conclude Sunday 11/12 at 8:00 PM EST. Shipping is included in your bid, thats why I started the bidding at $8.10, the cost of USPS's value shipping cost.

Garry,

Does that make your bid $12.10?

You forgot the 10 cents, you have to bid $14.90
post #10 of 47
$16.90 but that shirt sure would look good on me as I lug my T3 Powers (gold) around . . .

I just noticed this thread, and I find it touching and somewhat odd, suppose that is an appropriate reflection for me.

I would suggest though, that for the sake of fairness, that others, bold enough to profess their love for Volants (such as sullywhacker), should be able to bid on it for themselves.

I really wish I had a pair of Gold vapor T3 Powers in a 185 (see what you've done to me sully?).

Oh, and Phil will always be the expert, I'm just a fanatical addict.

Garry did you read the full descriptive post by Phil?
C'mon on man, you're usually the one pointing out these tiny details.

A simple "Thank You" is all that is needed. While we appreciate your generocity in your offer to allow others to get it for themselves, this shirt is all for you, because you are the one and only "Volant Addict"!

Aw shucks! You're too kind.

I bid $22.10 (14 bucks + shipping) if the sleeves are long enough for VA. If it doesn't fit jesusXL, send it to sullywhacker along with a bill for $16.90. I'll pay the balance.
23.10 I'm thinking of getting some Volants and I'll guilt VA into letting me have it .not, but maybe we can spill some beer on it at the Bowl

$24.10 for my friend VA.

Just be glad it doesn't come with pizza stains...

This whole thread seems to prove that I haven't been nearly as bitterly unpleasant as I've felt myself to be, I'll try harder in the future.

As Associate Volant Addict, I'd put in a bid, but I have to save my money to get the new V2 Chubbs (second from left) mounted this weekend.

And Phil, we've never forgiven you for defecting...

JD showed me his quiver pic via PM a little while back. He's obviously a man of very high intelligence.

I'll need a judgement call from VA on this, but I believe Phil misidentified the skis on the far right... they're Supers, no? The PKs are third from the left.

Phil... sadly losing touch with his roots in exchange for a soul-less Metron existence.

steel pic in honor of the honorable.

(so, VA, mount 'em a little back?)

we'll make it a chubb chair in tahoe.

I am pretty sure the ones all the way to the right are PowerKarve L's. Looks like a 173?

I checked and Phil was right; I apologize for doubting his knowledge of Volants.

Those are my wife's old 163s, which she exchanged a couple years ago for the Vertex 150s just to the left.
