I'd really like to see this post in English. I wonder if babelfish has a translator for jibber-speak. Where's g-dubs when I need him? (jibbers - gibberish? coincidence??)
"Another frxxxx libel
lover??" I think you mean liberal
, and boy are you misreading me if you think I'm a liberal!
Not dat I be hopped about Ur toAtaly rood Kennedy quip d00d. sHoo sum ResPekt Eddie.
(hmm, the universal translator is starting to tune in on this strange dialect)
Actually, it's always the liberals who say "trust the government to protect you , you don't have any need (or right) to protect yourself." Not being one of the sheeple, I don't always buy into that. "Isolated incident". Yeah right. The first action of government in a crisis seems to be an attempt to reassure everyone that it isn't a big deal, isn't related to things it's obviously related to. It's not being "liberal" to have a backup plan, have a plan B, have a threat assessment and have gamed out possible responses to keep you and your loved ones safe. If anything that's totally violating the "liberal's code of conduct" which would say "we need a new goverment agency to protect us - let's raise taxes! And please, stop me from 'hoarding' - don't let me take care of my family because that wouldn't be 'fair' to everyone else."
Anyhow this is about the Olympics, right? Not about people's politics or your idea of who has the biggest cojones. So on-topic I still say - Hold it if it's safe, don't be afraid to pull the plug if there's a risk that can't be countered. And take some real, proactive steps to find and thwart likely terror plots - don't keep "fighting the last war." That way we can safely hold the Games.
Let's hope by Fernie we can just take those turns you mentioned earlier, Eddie, and laugh about all these concerns. I'm guessing that unlike the Olympics, the Gathering of the Bears is under the OBL Al-Queda radar screen of likely targets!
