this is the board that was taken

this is the board that is missing so if you see it call and let someone know cause they might be the killer or have info on how they obtained the board.

This is definitely a seriously sad thing.
I have a nephew who posts on a snowboard web site. I'll have him put this up on it. Can't hurt.

Wow, that is bad news indeed :/ hope they catch the guy!

It is this model of board but it is a splitboard. Not very many of these have been made by the Blaho Bros. Hopefully the perp will try to sell the splitboard on Ebay, craigslist or some other site.

Mods, this would be a good sticky.

Well, it's already over a month old. It's not clear how long a sticky would be useful. For now I'll just bump this up, but I will revisit this later tonight.

I was on that barren stretch of road in early September on a Winds trip. I'm very sorry to hear this and my condolences to all touched by this tragedy.

I think therusty is right on this.
If it were made a sticky, we wouldn't really know when the case was solved to know when to take it down.
Lets just all keep an eye on it an bump it from time to time.

I did have this posted on another site that is strictly a snowboard site. Hope that helps too.

We would know because I would update it. The only reason I think this is worth a sticky is as a heads up. The police are just now asking people to keep an eye out for the board.
After 30 days or so, it coud be un-stickied too.

Okay, consider it stuck!
We'll take it down at the end of November or until/unless someone contacts, therusty or me to tell us the case is solved.

I really feel for this situation, and hope they get the perp!:

Thanks! Let's hope results come sooner than later.

I had it posted it on snowboard.com.

Its definitely a site that serves a different crowd than Epic.
Spread the news in any way possible, and to it's target group

JACKSON, Wyo. - Authorities hope a timeline of when a snowboarder from Colorado disappeared will help solve his murder.

Benjamin Bradley, 28, was first reported missing on June 9.
The Grand County Sheriff's Office says he left Tabernash, Colo. on June 2 and planned to hitchhike to Jackson, Wyo. to meet with friends.
Deputies say he made a cell phone call to his friends on June 2 at 8:58 p.m. A witness also says he saw a man that matched Bradley's description, and carrying a sign reading "Jackson", that same day at 11 p.m.
His body was found on October 1 in a remote area of Sweetwater County, Wyo.
Deputies say Bradley's death is being investigated as a homicide.
Bradley had a one-of-a-kind snowboard with him, custom made by a Denver-based company called Never Summer.
The board splits to form two short skis to allow a boarder to climb up slopes. It was never found and investigators think this rare board could lead to the killer.
If you have had any contact with Benjamin Bradley within the past year, or have seen his rare snowboard, please call the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office in Wyoming at (307) 352-3397.

More info still....

Yesterday, authorities said that it now appears that he was NOT carrying the snowboard pictured above. Instead, the board he actually had was still a splitboard, made by Never Summer, but it has a different topsheet and they're not sure about the design on the base.

Here's a quote from today's JH Daily:

After talking with Bradley’s friends and Never Summer, the sheriff’s office confirmed that it is now looking for the black snowboard with the eagle on it. Banners on the eagle’s wings read “Never” on the left and “Summer” on the right. A second set of banners, parallel with the eagle’s wings, read “Denver” on the left and “USA” on the right.

The bottom right of the snowboard reads “Legacy.”

If you see anything even remotely like this, call the cops.

except black topsheet

Has anyone seen any more news on this crime? I was really hoping this medium might help in the resolution.
I have heard nothing lately. I would say leave it up until after Thanksgiving and then unpin the topic.
Ok, it's been over two months since the crime and over a month since local resorts have opened. I've unstuck the thread. If I hear popular demand I'll restick it. Otherwise the thread will still be here if there's any breaking news on the story. In the meantime, we're still on the lookout for a Never Summer split board with an eagle on the topsheet. With luck, the bad guy will either use it or sell it and get caught.
Yeah, it's been awhile. Thanks for making this a sticky for a couple of months. Sounds like there hasn't been much movement on this case.
Bump.
I've thought about this on more than one occasion. Does anyone know if anything has happened in this case?
Thanks for bumping this Trekchick. He was a Winter Park snowmaker.

The Denver Post did an updated article on this in November. http://www.denverpost.com/search/ci_7501541

I hope they find who did this.
It is very dishartening to say the least.

However, if this board is linked and connected to this tragedy due to the fact that this is a very rare board it would lead me to believe that the perp knew of the possible value and may have had something out for the guy. There fore if the perp knew of the value thus could be deducted that he too would be on one of these forum sites. Posting this would definitely case the location or even existence of the board to be missing for ever.

However, I hope that is not the case here and in fact the exact opposite will happen and someone out there will recognize the board and turn the demented perp in.
Actually the police had to press do a release about the Neversummer Custom split. So it's public knowledge. I don't think these douchebags that did this knew or really cared about the board.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say there is absolutely no way this guy was killed by another snowboarder or snowboarders. Anybody who has ever gone into a pawn shop in the West knows that used snowboards aren't worth more than $50. I bet some drunken inbred retards picked him up, decided he was a drifter that nobody would miss, robbed him and left him for dead.

This story makes me ill, I was that guy 10 years ago hitching around Colorado and Wyoming. People that pick up hitchhikers in rural areas often have ulterior motives, be careful, and travel with a friend, when by yourself, take the bus. They need to catch this guy or guys.
Ah, just read the updated article in the Denver Post. "Tweekers," meth heads are probably responsible. There is nothing in this world scarier than a meth head who hasn't slept in a week. That makes me so ill.
Sadly, after this long they probably won't find out who did this till someone else gets busted and uses the perp as a "get out of jail" card.

: You just want to get your hands around his f'in neck with about 10 minutes of "diplomatic immunity".
