at any rate, in my handy-dandy western states ski book, peter shelton (or is it lito?) indicates that some of the lines off the backside down to the p/u bus are in the 40-degree range, which is about the steepest i've skied. even if not that steep, or that steep but "only" in segments, it's plenty steep enough for me. add a bunch of fluff and i don't anticipate any complaints, especially if it's the 2K vertical (or close to it) they advertise.
the "serious" lines offered at alta/bird are well beyond my skiing, anyway.
the frontside seems to offer tons of terrain very conducive to the kind of skiing my girlfriend will really enjoy.
best time she ever had on skis was a day at alta when it was deep, deep, deep and getting deeper. we flopped around like clueless fish but she never stopped smiling; i think this will work really well for both of us.
