I hope you guys have fun skiing in PA tomorrow. It is quite chilly here in the SE- freeze warnings for us tonight . I'm not sure if we will ever see snow again here, but I like this unseasonably cool weather we have been having.

Bring a snorkel.

This conjurs up memories of Bushwackerin's start of the season last fall. I forget the date you climbed for turns at Hidden Valley. But if I remember correctly it snowed 10 inches. You maybe challenged by lack of accumulation but I love your spirit. You caught alot of grief last year before you posted your pics.

I hate to think I'm too jaded to join you. Maybe too lazy. But I jog with the dog every morning the last six months in anticipation. I'll wait till Wagner opens up and hopefully the weather will cooperate enough for several front side slopes will available for opening day.

What I sure hope we can avoid this year is a fantastic early season followed by 70 deree days in January!

OCtober 25th 12 inches of snow(I plan on reposting that TR on that date actually), I figure 6 inches will be enough to keep the skis in on piece at Hidden Valley(its all grass and dirt really I think you could ski there in a hard frost).

last year i did not get a single scratch on my skis and i hope to do the same. I will make post tomorrow early if i plan on doing it.

We will meet up on opening day I am going to make sure we do this the 20 something way with cell phones # and random calls to people you dont know. I guess this is becoming the officail "openign weekend at springs meet thread"

its 5:11 am eastern time I am here to tell you Hidden Valley only got 2.5 inches of snow so far.

I was up to go but you got stick with the 6 inch rule. It still very nice to see the snow covering the slope right now.

Rightious! I like not being able to see the grass! Screw Chicago I wanna go home(30 min north of the burgh) now and ski! I have 3 more weeks of school, it should be skiable(word?) by then! Is the weather supposed to keep in our favor?

Yeah my flight back is Nov 22 and I plan on going the first chance I get! I've got 6 weeks off for Fall/Winter break and don't go back until after New Years. DePaul is on quarters instead of semesters so we get a really long break. I just bought some new twin tips, and can't wait to get out on the moutain. It's freezing here in Chicago.

cold + wind - winter jacket left at home = FREEZING! :
