I'm Kevin. I've been reading the site for a while but have never posted. I grew up in Syracuse, NY area and now live in NYC. My local is Belleayre, but usually travel a few times a year if possible - last year was Mt. Tremblant and Mammoth, this year Whiteface and Sugarloaf.
I skied from age 13-22 in upstate NY and VT, had a 12 year hiatus and have been back 3-4 years now. Last year I really dug in since the previous year's weather didn't cooperate. I'm a pretty capable skier in most terrain. Mammoth threw me though - we arrived just before an enormous storm dumped 4' or more of that sierra cement (or whatever they call it). When they finally opened the top, we got up there and I realized I was out of my league.
I have been reading up on Sugarloaf and hoping a regular/local can give some advice. My wife's a very capable snowboarder and we're into checking out the brackett basin for part of a day if the conditions are right. Trying to keep with the rules of 3s, we'd love to find a guide to show us around there a few runs and was hoping someone here would have some info. We'll be there last week of March.
Other than skiing, I'm into music (mostly listening to shoegaze and classical at the moment) and I work as a production sound mixer for film/tv and I also shoot, edit, direct, etc.
I'm not much of a forum guy, but hoping to jump in where I can and keep reading up and learning.
