Just found out about this site, what an awesome place!
A little background on me...Born and raised in southern Ontario, living in eastern Ontario now. I work as an aircraft mechanic in the Canadian Forces at 424 Search and Rescue Squadron. Grew up snowboarding (started at age 7) and did that for 17 years. Did very little skiing along the way, but had a basic concept and could at least handle myself on anything Ontario had to offer. 3 years ago I switched to skiing, mainly just to try something different. Spent the first two seasons ripping it up on some of the nastiest groomers Ontario has to offer (insert sarcasm). The latter part of last season I started hitting some off-piste hills on crown land in the haliburton highlands. Nothing crazy, I just liked the feeling of being out in the woods trying to find some neat lines. I still hit the local hill every now and then, mainly just because my step son snowboards and likes going to the park. I also have a 2 year old daughter, I'm anxious to get her on the bunny hill next year!
Anyhow, I'm really glad I found this site and I look forward to learning as much as I can!
