Can I order them over the phone and have them mailed to me? Any reliable way to get printouts? I am interested in Vail resorts.

Thanks!

call the resorts where you want a map from, i bet they would be more than happy to send you one. In hopes that you will go and visit them during the season.

call or e-mail the summit county chamber of commerce. They will have maps to all area resorts.

I would call the resorts, they would probably be more than happy to. Every year, I request info for a ton of resorts and a lot of times they send me real trail maps. On year, I got all of the Vail Resorts maps in the same package. I have a whole collection now.

I am a huge trail map fan. One year I compiled a list of 50 or so places that I wanted maps from and then either E-mailed them or called them depending on how they asked to be contacted. About 90% of them sent me maps. I remember Jackson Hole and Mammoth did not and did not specify a reason. But oddly Copper said flat out, "No we do not do that!" The best place was alta who was the quickest to respond, sent me a sticker, and a handwritten note thanking me for my interest. A few others sent stickers as well, Mt Hood Meadows being one of them.

no to hijack the thread buy ive been wondering the same thing about the Jackson Hole Resort backcountry. Ive seen them before, it looks like there are several runs off the back side of the mountain behind the hobacks and in that area. Where can i get these? They are actual images with the trail printed on it, its not a topo

Thanks everyone!
I will make some calls during the day tomorrow. I will then post when I get an answer and let you know what I get. The problem with Vail's map is its being updated so I probably will not be able to get a map right now.

I googled this before and there is actually a Jackson Hole Backcountry Poster available. It looks pretty extensive. I am too lazy to find it right now but a query along the lines of "Jackson Hole" poster backcountry

should do the trick

At most resorts they have free ski maps available -- all you have to do is go there. To me that sounds like the best way to get them.

You could go to one of the ski shows in late October and early November and pick up all of the ski maps you could ever desire.

Me too.....I love trail maps. Best souvenir available. I'm going to Utah in March, never been. If I can get trail maps I think it would be a good way to plan your day before you arrive.
Anyone do this....and actually stick to your plan??
