One word: Wow!
Jeff got the boots dialed in for me (although I'll want to have a couple of fitting things tweaked), and I skied a half dozen or so runs at A Basin today on my own skis. The boots certainly stiffened later in the day as the weather cooled, and they were a bear to take off when I called it quits, but... wow!
I did not notice the taper angle issue at all.
I did notice that I was much better balanced today than I was on Sunday, so whether that was the footbeds, the fact I could feel my feet ( : ), or the balancing work that Jeff did (or a combination of all three, probably), it all worked for me today. Wish I had pictures; the difference would be significant, I think.
But, while skiing, I didn't really feel the toes-out stance at all. Nothing about the tail feeling wide on the outside. Just nice arc-to-arc turns and response whenever I moved.
I plan to be back out on Monday, and plan to get pictures and maybe some video. If I do, I'll post it...
