Hey all,

I've run this by ssh and he green-lighted it. A friend of mine (and fellow instructor) has started a new website dedicated to snow-sports. I've been tapped as the unofficial PR rep, so here's the press release announcing the new site. Feel free to offer comments in this thread as to improvements or ideas you might have.

Thanks guys!

Colorado Springs, CO – Announcing the first 100% user driven website for snow-sliding addicts!

A new website - - has been created to answer the important questions on every skier and snowboarder’s mind: How much snow does Squaw average annually? What bar has the best happy hour in Whistler? What was that song in the intro of Aspen Extreme? Was George Lopez really in a ski movie?

Different sections of the site include industry news; WikiWinter, a wiki devoted to all things skiing and snowboarding; community forums for visitors to interact with one another; and coming soon, a classifieds section devoted to gear swaps, housing, and job opportunities.

According to site founder PJ Hoberman, the boredom of his first real job, combined with the 80 degree summer temperatures, drove him to start a website dedicated to skiing. Hoberman said, “I wanted to provide a place for riders, by riders. That’s why I’m so excited about the WikiWinter feature. This will allow skiers and riders worldwide to collaborate on what I hope will ultimately become the encyclopedia for snow-sports.”

While other sites similar to have emerged as of late, is one of the only sites dedicated to both skiing and snowboarding. With the support of its users, the site aims to become the clearinghouse for information pertaining to all things snow. can be found at
