I'm not sure what I'd do if I couldn't drink red wine. Tonight I had a nice Vino Nobile de Montepulciano with braised short ribs over porcini agnolotti.
I tend towards lighter dry hoppy beers so I'll need to look into their IBU ratings. My wife tends to like less hoppy beers, even heavier darker beers than me, even stouts. Not my cup of tea usually, but she's a Wisconsin girl!
Fortunately, I'll drink just about anything, though I prefer anything good. Wasn't much of a hops fan until I bought a mixed twelve of Sam Adams's variously hopped IPAs, which was an education. I was more of a porter, stout, etc. lover. But I changed, or broadened, and now I drink IPAs all the time. I'm waiting for my palate to catch up with lambics and so on. Not quite there yet.
