What are you drinking, right now? - Page 72

Funny you guys are talking about this ... my son just came back from South Africa yesterday, and fell in love with a ginger beer called Stoney. It's bottled by CocaCola ... I was trying to find if it was sold in the US, and stumbled upon http://gingerbeerblog.com/  ...

Delicious crystal clear water  right off the mountain from the Lake Christopher Spring on Route 26, Woodstock, Maine (just minutes from Sunday River).

This stuff is amazing.

(I think it's even better than it tastes right now, too, as my nose was terribly stuffy this morning.)

Just had the better part of a gallon of Powerade. Played 4.5 hours of 5 v 5 full court basketball in a gym with no AC. Had to be about 80-85 and humid in there. Still feel like my core is hot and I've been done playing for over two hours.

Oohh, I want to try that, but they've been out at my local liquor store.  However, this stuff is amazing:

French, and I'm not even sure it's technically gin because of all the fancy stuff in it.

But I strongly recommend it, with just a bit of Vya dry vermouth=sublime:

I had Nolet's for the first time the other night ... it was good, but I am not a fan of raspberry in drinks (unless it's a freshly muddled berry). Everything was great until the aftertaste of raspberry. Then I squeezed the lime in the drink and it helped that. I think it's pretty darn good gin, not the piney cucumbery type, though... more flowery and fruity.

aaaaccckkkkkk,

Gin. My mother in law used to say how gin was on of the hardest drinks one could do.  I only know my brother in law got us into doing Bombay Gin, quite lovely back in my college days!.   But I also remember the one time back in community college where I missed a final, due to cheap gin, I woke up, thought I ate a pine tree.   I called the Prof having missed the final, he was kind enough to "give me a B" based on prior grades less a letter.

I couldn't help but be happy!

Gin!!!  Don't do it!  Vodka-yes!

Heh. I do like gin, but it is definitely the substance that will kick my ass before I know it. I can drink quite unladylike amounts of bourbon with no trouble, but I've learned to be very careful with the gin.

Right now, Keith's IPA; having a short break, before I get back to unpacking my camping gear, doing dishes, and tracking down a used tire to replace one that is fubar.  The other three tires are almost worn out, but damnit, I want my money's worth out of them!

Over my brief Holiday: a few beers, wine with supper, some Laphroig Quarter Cask around the camp fire pit during my canoe trip, and also at that party where maybe I should have kept it to one flaskdevil.gif, some Remy Martin VSOP with coffee and desert after supper (I decided I couldn't afford the Courvoisier XO - it was very tempting), a couple of Margaritas ( on the beach, in the sunsmile.gif).

I think ours was 2009, but ....

IT TASTES LIKE BACON!

Crazy. Bacon and a campfire. Would go great with spicy bbq or something.

Bourbon Peach Smash It sounded so yummy,I made some ginger mint simple syrup this afternoon and may have to see how this works.

Splash sweet vermouth

Ginger ale

1 Sprig mint

1 Ginger slice

Had this last night. Very good brew.  Not overly harsh, the hops are more subdued but with the typical hop flavors. Nice malty even slightly roasted taste.

Chilled, quenching and refreshing spring water from a spring in Maine...
