Fill glass with ice cubes, add three (or more) fingers Pimm's, top with lemonade or ginger ale, stir.

Very refreshing summer beverage!  ;-)

The Pimms-and-bubbly drink at the new lodge at Northstar is the bees knees, I need to replicate it here; I bet it is as good for summer as it is for apres.

Currently, Nobilo sav blanc is combating the humidity.

I scored a few bottles of beer from Three Floyds in Munster, IN.

I wasn't really sure what all the hype was about but I opened the Apocolypse Cow last night.  Its 11% ABV and comes in at 100 IBUs.  From their website...

This complex double India pale ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA we have brewed an ale that is both pleasing to drink and, once again, “not normal.” Cheers!

I have to say I am quite impressed.  It was very easy drinking for a beer with suck high alcohol content and bitterness.  There was a hint of sweetness to it and it had a sort of creamy texture to it.  The only thing I don't like about it is that I only had one bottle.  frown.gif

some good looking and sounding drinks mentioned above!  Nobilio Savignon is tasty.  go for a Whitehaven or a Cloudy Bay next time.

You suck! biggrin.gif I can't get it here or anywhere reasonably close.  I am definitely jealous.

I guess it pays to be a good customer...my dealer I mean the manager at my favorite beer store is going to share some of her personal stash of Apocalypse Cow with me so I get one more bottle.

Tonight I opened a bomber of Epic's Wit Beer from their Exponential Series.  It was pretty good.  It amazing that such good adult beverages come out of a state that seems to barely tolerate them.

I could go for that.

Just to be clear, the stopper doesn't come with the Pimm's. Had to procure that separately.  ;-)

yumm, Sierra Nevada ... had their Paie Ale earlier today but moved to a Granite City Wellington.   Some local Wisconsin brews are pretty excellent!

Nice, I'm halfway though a case of Torpedo Pounders I got for Father's Day. Cans take up less space, two of those is a commitment.

The nice thing is the beer prices in CA are so much better than PA.  $10.99/12-pack for the Torpedo.  That's a dollar off the usual price.  I'm leaving for Pittsburgh on Wednesday, and will have to deal with the distributorship monopoly there.  40th reunion time at Berea High School in Ohio too.  Ouch!

Calvados with pear ice cream... Chilling in Narbonne, France

VladL, that sound yummy!

I forgot to eat lunch today so I'm taking an afternoon break with a blueberry/banana smoothie.  Just didn't want to eat much so close to dinner time.

Ziggy is looking at me like "Hey!  Aren't you going to fix a real lunch?  I'll help you eat it"

Once again, Horizon Organic Chocolate Milk (sans Oreos this time).  My son and I suck it down so fast my wife put a limit on it.

Some homemade rootbeer from the amish people at the farmers market. I has a distinct earthiness you don't get from artificially flavored root beers.

mmmm I love good root beer and cream soda too.

My Mom used to talk about her father making homemade root beer when she was a little girl. You have whetted my appetite - might have to give it a try.  ;-)

My grandma made root beer when I was a kid.  Had an actual barrel that she made it in.  drool.gif

Just for the taste of it!

I know, I know! I SHOULD be drinking something healthier. So no one go on the dissolved nail rant.

Water, lots of spring water. Said while swirling French hand-blown, balloon glass, "It's a pretentious little spring water, but I think you'll be amazed by its finish."

nice! sounds great.  As a kid we used to chew on birch branches. good stuff.

Went to a local brewery for dinner tonight and had some of their custom brewed root beer as well. Doesn't have the earthiness of the amish root beer, but is mighty tasty in a chilled mug.

OMG this is good!  Troubadour Obscura.  A 4 pack is $18. but I'm I mean it's worth it biggrin.gif.  Just swam about a mile or so in the pool.  The water is 90!.  Got in the pool around 8:00PM after a long day of bureaucracy and having this to look forward to was what got me through.  The beer is a mild stout and even folks that don't like beer, love this.
