Rest assured it was a long evening starting with a Gunsmoke-a-thon and ending with Unforgiven. Nothing was rushed. There were four of us so things weren't wasted either. Except for the food.
What are you drinking, right now? - Page 54
I went on a shopping trip yesterday to my favorite beer store to pick of a few special brews. I'm enjoying the first one this evening...Flying Dog barrel aged Gonzo Imperial Porter. It is definitely worth the price admission.
OK, an update. I decided to open a bottle of Bell's porter as well. Now it is a fantastic beer just like all of Bell's other beers but the barrel aged Gonzo absolutely blows it away. I think I have found. A new favorite brew.
thanks! I can get that around here so I will check it out for this weekend.

One time I went to England, and the beer they drink over there (on tap, at least where I was) I'm not even sure you can get here. I remember "Tetley" and Caffry's (sp?).
Fuller's ESB is available here and similar if not identical to what's sold under the same name in Old Blighty. One of my favorites, in fact. You can also get Theakston's Old Peculiar here if you like something a little sweeter/thicker.
The Ruthless Rye is good. :Like Torpedo, this ale is highly dry-hopped and has an initial blast of floral hops followed by bitters, butI think it has more complexity and malt overtones along with the whisper of rye that comes through on the palette. It s a nice copper color and has a satisfying head on pouring. So go ahead and pick some up. It's low-risk.
It seems you pretty much have to go to Colorado or mail-order it. A friend of mine picked up a couple of bottles for me (and a couple for herself) last week while she was in CO. She went to the distillery, and said she had the best time ever there - highly recommended according to her. She also got me a Stranahan's FlexFit(tm) ball cap. Score!
Last night I found a 6 pack of Troeg's Mad Elf and I just popped the top on the first one. It's unique for sure. It's brewed with honey and cherries. At first I wasn't sure that I liked it but it has grown on me. Of course it could be the fact that it's 11% ABV.
