Wasatchskier ... I'd been checking the web cams, but was hoping for a more personal report on snow accumulation, if any. Of course, PowMow does not have a web cam, so again I was looking for someone local to chime in.
I read the same info in SKI and cringed when I saw the ratings. PowMow is one of, if not the best, unheard of place to ski. I cringed when I saw the rankings because we don't want word to get out and start a stampede. A couple of years ago one of the Park City locals (Pedro) told me not to go to PowMow;he said "you won't like it there". I mentioned we'd just been there the day before and what a great place it was, and he started to laugh. He fessed up that the locals tell all the "tourist" skiers to stay away as they want the place pretty much all to themselves.
Snowbasin is simply a world class place to ski ... great lifts, service, lodges and food. The rankings are spot on for both Snowbasin and PowMow. If you travel to SLC, you have to go to Snowbasin at least one day, wherein you'll come away completely spoiled.
