BTW, you must have gotten a lot of looks wearing those AK Rocket Lab Swallowtails mounted with race stock bindings at Killington.
Lol....I skied them at the salomon oasis demo, they show up with salomon's entire line (but mounted with 12 din bindings). I thought the mount point was like 5 to 10 cm too far forward
, and I skied them -1cm. Skied some steeps, mixed crud, bumps, etc. I couldn't figure out what their deal was.....just a wicked far foward feel. Maybe in bottomless pow they feel right, but I highly doubt it.
I just bought '07 big daddies.....should get quite the rise out of people with those. Seriously though, they should be a damn nice EC pow ski....mega floaty, not too long of a tip, and pretty quick turning for their size. Similar to my beloved axioms - similar flex pattern, similar sidecut, same distance from bootsole center to tip, but 15mm wider overall, lighter, and a longer, narrower tail. I know a 115mm waist ski with a 40m sidecut is almost impossible to put up on edge on hard snow, so I don't really care about the edgeablity of these daddies at a 125mm waist.
