to be honest, lucky, my enthusiasm for F1 waned a bit when mika called it a career. i do miss those weekends when a guy i work with (big ferrari fan) and i would get up at 4 am, drive down to the speedway grill in newport beach, and watch the races. usually more red in the crowd but there were always a couple of mclaren guys (is this a baseball thread?) who'd get pretty loud.
(i'll never forget the hush that enveloped that place when mika pulled off The Pass at spa.)
mika is who made michael somewhat interesting to me; but mainly because mika introduced him to the concept of humility.
kimi will excel, of course.
but i'll be pulling for mclaren to make him wish he'd stayed.
the only red i'm rooting for is now in "wait til next year" mode.
(clemens to boston for one more go? that chatter's starting again.
papelbon to start? sure. but you need a closer again.)
