wow absolutly amazing

If there's no true carving in it, then it isn't suitable for the good folks of epicski.

I expect that the film defies proper decorum by using skis that are obscenely non-Metron. :

What if someone from epic has a Metron, AND a Karma?:
That must be one disturbed Bear

Maybe we should give it to the Technique and Instruction Forum so they can motion analize it.
looks like i'mma be an anamoly.

i own a pair of Karmas and am seriously contemplating buying a pair of Metrons (albeit the discontinued M:EX, but a Metron nonetheless).

long live the anamoly!
I'm thinking that talking about Karmas as if they were fat skis only makes the whole stereotype of epic skiers even more true.

what stereotype would that be?

that anything wider than a 74 waist ain't a ski worth skiing?

is that the "standard" epicski stereotype?

Never disturb a bear , especially so many of you disturbed ones. Is this a coming clean thread of Karmas and Metrons???
I think it means some of us have open minds and ski what pleases them

but for me I just didn't like those damn metron b-5's but to each their own .
I have RX9s as my only ski at the moment but a pair of Karmas will be on their way soon.

I was referring to the Karma as a twin tip, not a fat ski.
And for the record, someone from TGR recomended them to me

This Bear is already disturbed. If you need proof, check the thread listed above.:

I think my work is done here!

TGR Etc.

Birdman, I bought a pair of RX9's late last year. Love them cruising at all speeds, didn't like in bumps and was wondering what you think of yours etc. and powder skiing? Have a pair of B5's too. I'm really ignorant of the rift between the two factions but love the movies by TGR.

I knew you would show your feathers TC if I tossed a rock in your direction .
Good for you. I like your choices.

Love 'em. I'm 5'8 175-180 lbs. and I went short. I'm on 165s. They absolutely kill on ice/packed snow. Absolutely no speed limit that I could find despite the short running length. As an eastern skier, I only had one powder day on them last year. It was 8-10 inches of real light stuff, and they did OK. They certainly didn't float, but they were fun and were real stable when it got all cut up. I also wasn't impressed by bump performance (too stiff, but the short length does help), but that's a sacrefice I'm willing to make. I'm getting the Karmas so that I can have even more fun in the pow/trees/bumps when the snow is soft.

The "rift," such as it is, is highly exaggerated. Many folks, myself included, participate on both boards.

As a general rule, this board leans East and that board leans West; this board likes groomers and moguls fine and that board thinks they're occasionally tolerable for getting between a lift and what we actually want to ski; this board tends to emphasize technique and that board tends to emphasize adventure.

Oh, and this board is safe for my kids to visit, while that board encourages me to act closer to my kids' age than my own.

We could go into the whole bacon thing, but you really have to experience it to understand.

Pretty good gross generalizations. One board treats posters like adults even if the act like children and the other treats posters like children even if they act like adults.

The Anomoly teaser is thoroghly bitchin', and I'll surely make it to the tour's stop in Missoula.

I'm not sure about that. I've seen some pretty good flame wars here, and I've never seen anyone "act like an adult" and get trashed on TGR.
i'm with AD.

i joined TGR and ES at the same time. There is a noticeable difference, but to be honest, I got "flamed" with my first post here regarding a pair of Armada skis for sale. it's been smooth sailing ever since, though.

but i've found some cool feedback on TGR. it just depends who's dishing out the advice and how you present yourself on your post/thread.

but i have noticed that Epic leans a little more toward older skiers who tend to favor racing/hardpack/ice (either by choice or fate of location) whereas TGR tends to lean toward more O/B and A/T oriented freeskiers.

general observations, mind you.

i find posting similar threads on each site will yield an interesting (and often informative) cross section of responses, especially if you're a skier like me who just only recently made the switch from long slalom skis (198 Rossi 7's) to wider, shaped skis (177 Volka Karma, 177 Volk Mantra, 180 AK No Ka Oi, 175 Blizzard Titan 8, also looking at the Bro 179 soft and a considerably wider powder planks)

Ah, but no matter which way you slice it, you have one fine quiver there!

I will be watching Anomaly when I can. The trailer made me hot.
