Colorado Hut Trip - Recommendations?

I'm trying to put together a Thanksgiving weekend, 2-night hut trip and was wondering if anyone has a good recomendation on which hut to hit. Basically, we'd like something that's relatively easy to get to (say 5 miles or so) that has good ski options once we get to the hut. We are all advanced or expert level skiers, avy certified and will be on AT skis. Ideal terrain would be above treeline, bowls or widely spaced trees. Any recommendations?

HOpe this might help. even if you don't want to spring for one of their trips, they describe the huts.

I think that huts.org has forums about the huts. Some of the people who post there may have more experience. I have only been to Skinner which is about an 11 mile hike. There was good skiing but it is quite a hike.

get the latest issue of couloir magazine; they review over 2 hundred back country huts all over NA, including most of the ones in CO. Have a great trip- I wish I was going!

We did the MacNamara hut one time - 6 miles, about 4 hours. Ski options nearby were not spectacular but not bad - below treeline with low to medium gradient open areas.

Perfect...I'll pick up a copy today. After reviewing the book Colorado Hut To Hut and based on what's available, it's looking like we'll go with with the Fowler/Hilliard hut or the Sangree Froelicher hut. I'll have to see what Couloir has to say.
