My last attempt to ski from the summit (2 years ago, with Eric DesLauriers, and 4 other Bears) was quashed by bad weather on the 2nd day. I would love to take a second try this year, but I don't know if I can get the time off (and the OK from my wife!). I'll see if I can swing it, and I know some others here who are interested.

I'm on my way back to Jersey in the Trooper with the tuning bench and seven pairs of skis in the back (snif, snif). I know there is plenty of snow left because it was still snowing as I started driving.

If things are looking good I may be tempted out to A-basin for a quick flying weekend in May, especially if UL and the CubieCutey need some muscle to help move.

Anybody else up for a moving party???

If they make trucker hats, I can't find 'em for the life of me.

They do make cool chainsaw helmets, though...VK you might want to invest in one. You'd bee "really" cool on the slopes with a bright orange chainsaw helmet (and you could augment it with horns for the added chic value).
Hey dookey,

How about that link in the right hand corner ..."Wearables"

I expect you'll get SCSA one too!

I am blind.

what's worse is that I work at a major internet site and spend all my day scouring the Net.

you'da thunk i woulda seen that.

not sure/convinced if the Husky hats are as swank as the Stihl ones, though...

Come on, how can you say that isn't swanky?

But how about this offer?

"Buy the Best Chain Saws, Get the Best Helmet Free! Get a FREE Petzl helmet with purchase of a 339XP or 338XPT New Edition chain saw."

Now that's really a statement, and it's free if you get the chainsaw...

NO Viking, we are fortunate you are taking the pictures...if we got lost again authorities could use your photos as "last know image of..."

dd223, You should never show up late to an LGC event. You never know what you could be missing out on.
I was in CO last week (4/10-13) and visited some of the same areas as the LGCIII gang, but on different days marching to my own family drumbeat: http://www.dcski.com/ubbthreads22/sh...1&Number=35069
Was that great ski weather/conditions for April or what!?!

Nice trip report on the DCski site James. I particularly liked the following comment:

We didn't ski Arapahoe Basin, but drove by it on way from Keystone to Loveland on morning of 4/13/07. The cannons were booming due to lots of snow in month of April.

Strange that with the first "big boom" I was sitting on the Lenawee Chair at A-Basin with both ssh & Uncle Louie. We all about fell out of the chair looking back to see the fallout due to the blast (one of many more to come) as Patrol is quite active and does a great job insuring saftey with the steeps out there. You sure are right...outstanding snow and great April conditions.

Next time join us on the snow! No doubt you and your family would have had a blast skiing with us.

Later

Vi-kub attended all events from March 29th onwards except for Vail on April 7, and flew back to www.pcs-nyc.org on the morning of April 9. Yes, that's right, she's still in high school...

By the way, those are Rossi 9s World Cups she is skiing on there, and she also has a pair of dynastar course comp 66's in the quiver, and she knows how to use both.

Actually while they were sitting on the chairs I zigged when I should have zagged at the bottom and ended up in the patrol hut buying an official A-basin ski patrol 2007 "Ski with the Goats" t-shirt for Vi-kub. The patrol dudes let me watch them setting off a charge on the east wall through the spotter scope. It was mondo de cool, I really like to see things getting blown up, definitely worth the price of the t-shirt. Plus the proceeds of the t-shirt go to buy puppy chow for the avalanche rescue dogs (and maybe sierra nevada pale ale for the patrol, but if they share this with the dogs it's ok by me.)

And my standard quote when I hear the cannon anywhere is "Hit me baby one more time..." (with all due apologies to Ms. Spears).

Familes are welcome at LGC3 events, we even had a few youngsters skiing with bunny ears on their helmets. Make sure you call us next time...
