Bob Peters Happy Birthday

A big happy birthday to Bob Peters. I'm so relieved that every year at least you and Ott are older than me
Since its your birthday, it must be snowing? Or is that just a change in hair color?

Thanks for all the Jackson stoke and news this year. Enjoy your day, and allow me to throw back this classic from yourself when you were my age ...refering to how you got your name:

It's been suggested a few times that I took it from a VERY old joke. If you haven't heard it, allow me. I've heard it about ten million times. :

A guys walks into a barber shop and asks the barber, "Bob Peters here?".

Barber replies, "Nope. We only do shaves and haircuts."

Thank you. Thank you very much. You've been a great audience. Be sure to tip the wait staff.

yeah, but Bob and I can merge threads, so don't go looking for the second one.
We were posting at the same time, and I took longer looking up that old thread.

Happy Birthday Bob!
I remember Bob mentioned that he was going to Europe sometime this month, so perhaps he'll get to read this in a smoke-filled internet cafe.

Happy Birthday, my friend... You're the best...

Happy Birthday Bob. It will always bother me just a bit that even though I am a couple years younger than you, I'll always lag behind whether it's hiking, skiing, or skinning. Nevertheless, what a privilege to have you and Ruthie as friends to do these things with.

P.S. Maybe this year with a second hip replacement I won't lag as much???

P.P.S. I believe Bob is traveling right now so he may not see this right away.

I'll bet he's skiing. Happy birthday, Bob.

Hi, all.

Thanks much for all the great thoughts. We are indeed traveling.

We just arrived in Zermatt late yesterday afternoon. We were able to see the Matterhorn late in the day and it (and all the surrounding peaks) has a pretty thick coat of new snow.

It's RAINING this morning in town and looks like it's snowing again higher up. My plan to ski the Klein Matterhorn (that's just a ski area that's lift-served all year) is looking a bit iffy. I'm not sure I want to ride up three lifts and ski one run in the fog, but we'll see.

We've had a spectacular trip so far. We climbed Via Ferrata routes up the Marmolada, the Civetta, Tofana di Roses, and a couple of other Dolomite peaks last week. I've never worked so hard while on vacation. It'll be nice to get home again and get some rest.

This is the best photo I could find right now of the Civetta:

Thanks again, and yes, Greg, I'm older than you. I'm fairly sure I'm older than your father.

I'll post some trip photos in the next few days.

But you have a ways to go to catch up with me.

I've enjoyed Bob's writing about skiing since the days we shared on Paula's before Epic existed. Always insightful and instructive.

Keep on enjoying those B-days, Bob.
