From the Backside of the Wasatch:

Very encouraging that the 1st storm is coming in so cold. Not that I put too much into a Sept storm, but....fall weather patterns do set up the Winter. If cold air is already making its way this far south, then that can only be a good thing.

First of all.....thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am REALLY going to try to get to SLC this winter. These pics really remind me of what we miss here in the NE.

What altitude were the two pics taken? How far down the canyon can you go and still have some snow? Sandy is probably too low for snow at this point correct?

Nice pics...gotta love the Wasatch. It looks like the whole west got snowed on today...pretty awesome for Sept. I'm super stoked for the season.

That's right. Sandy is down in the SL Valley. Sandy will sometimes not have snow that sticks until late December while Alta & Snowbird have several feet.

Last weekend, I went up to Snowbird and the snow line seemed to be about 7000 feet. But everything at the lower elevations melted by Monday.

The snow line is supposed to be 6000 feet or snow after tonight's storm but it's supposed to be dryer and warmer next week.
