I prefered the 172's over the 162's, which were a bit too "active" for me. I like rounder, long-radius turns. I'm 6'1", 205 lbs.
Sometimes I hop on the M:EX's just to give my legs a rest. But, the M:EX's don't provide the sling-shot turn acceleration of the B:5's. There's nothing like 'em.
Finally someone who summed up exactly how I feel about these skiis.
I researched here quite a bit before buying and the general feedback other than Trekchick (who forgot to mention how short she is) seems to be biased towards going shorter. Not sure why....just my comment.
I am 5'10' 185 and went for the 172's.
Very stable fast cruising skiis for me and turny when you want them to as well.
"A game"....absolutely.....can't let up on them or they will take control from you.
Quads.....you know you were skiing that day as opposed to the Rossi z9's I demoed which made it seem I hadn't been skiing that day.....but were also unstable for me at 162 (?).
Heavy skiis with bindings....hope for parking close to the lift.
I may get M11:B5's this year to "relax" a bit.
You already bought but considerations to take into account besides height/weight are turn type and speed....higher and longer and longer ....go 172.
Also keep in mind conditions. Good west coast snow....go longer for stability.
Selling point for me....edge control like nothing I heve ever had before on icey conditions.
