i just got back from seeing A Tribe Called Quest's reunion tour stop in Berkeley, CA.
surprisingly for a group that hasn't recorded or toured in close to 9 years (give or take) they've still got it. One can only hope/wish/dream that they get in the studio with somebody like Danger Mouse and record a proper comeback album.
as for the topic at hand, i don't listen to music when i ski. headphones/ear buds give me a headache. then again, i've been going to live shows and listening to music on a daily basis for close to 20 years given that my profession is that of a music journalist (i currently am the editor-in-chief of this site: http://music.ign.com/
i do, however, listen to music on the way to the slopes.
Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique
Gang Starr - Step In The Arena
Yo La Tengo - Painful
Kasabian - Kasabian
Sam Roberts Band - Chemical City
current favorites include:
Nature Sounds Presents: Natural Selection
Space Needle Recordings 1994-1997
and too many others to rip off the top of my head.
