another suggestion

I also balance on my shins, and sometimes throw a tennis ball back forth between a partner. Tough stuff!

Another idea: take a bosu ball, flip it upsidedown, and stand on the flat part of it. This is great for engaging your entire core, and you actually have something stable to stand on (no curling toes here!) Throw some body squats in there for fun...maybe use some DBs as well.
