he is way . . . way, repast.

In the spirit:

Santa Fe--chile rellenos (also, Roberto's in Taos)

Pacific Northwest--salmon, any number of ways. Halibut, too, if it's been taken care of, from the boat.

Aw man, this reminded me of an oyster po'boy I had at the Urbanna (VA) Oyster Festival some years back. That was the best thing I ever ate. The only possible good use of Wonder Bread, as well.

Actually, seafood of any sort is what I go for when I'm local -- the closer the better. Obviously, in Colorado, it isn't ever quite fresh enough.

Tuna eaten 10 min after it was caught, Southern California.

Oysters from anywhere, really.

Lobster in New England.

San Francisco,

Depends on what dish you have in mind.

Each Local restaruant has it's speciality.

If I had to do a Chinese Dim Sum run (take out), to select 10 dishes I'd probably end up at 8 different bakery/restaurants to pickup food.

I did find a great place for Provencal Fish Stew this week.
Le Metro on Divisadero. Best one I've had since my visit to the Rhone Valley.

The Blue Ben - Bennington Vt. a diner with a great menu - closes at 3:00 pm.

Plum Blossam - great Chinese (Troy) for those using Rt 7 to Vermont.

Two Bro. - Italian (Troy) on Rt 7

and then there's Duncan's (not Duncan Dounuts). Old Style Dairy Bar - it's a diner. Home made baked stuff and the best breakfast you will ever find. Closes for the winter, Jan 1 or so, opens March or so. It is also on Rt 7 (Troy). Hours 4:30 am to 2:00 pm.

IF anyone is going to NYC send me a message. I have that city DOWN.

BEST DELI - Katz's, easily. Pastrami on rye. Their house beer is excellent too.
been there since 1888, it's very big, and was old world charm.

Cannoli/Cheescake - Veniero's - 15min walk from Katz's

AMAZING coffee - Gorilla Coffee in Brooklyn - order it, it's only $9.50/lb,
but they roast it themselves, and you can actually feel the "kick".
^^Seriously, treat yourself!

Balthazar - definitive French brasserie, huge. Duck sherperd's pie is very good. They have some cider that is excellent with a meal,
less pricey and more of a sure bet than wine.

Swedish bar in Manhattan

For all my tirades against obnoxious NYers and Yankee fans, I {heart} New York City. (like we New Englanders are perfect anyway

fyi - great Scandinavian bar in Chinatown of all places:

Good World

Great late night beer on tap, sjotbullar, gravlax, Norwegian shrimp etc.

One of the things I miss from New Yawk is ricotta cheese pie. I got a recipe for "The Soprano's TV Cookbook" and it was very good. If you like the Sopranos, this is a must have, there are some great recipes and some funny quipes in it.
