Besides, there are still plenty of steel-capped-made-in-CO-USA-damp-as-a-wet-towel-crud-crushing-genuine-dyed-in-the-wool-real-McCoy Volants to keep me riding the steel rails for years to come.

If I was to buy an Atomic, it would be the new Big Daddy, not some groomer slicer dicer.

These are the same skis, they offered from 01-02. Prices aren't listed but will range from $1,495-1,795.00 Or you can go to yor local Sports Authority and pick up some Sin's for $79.00
Um, don't you mean 02/03? 01/02 were still steel capped (unless you were referring to the ones MADE those years). The construction is the same, but the dimensions were changed slightly after Atomic actually bought Volant and went to the more limited line.

The saddest thing is that I wouldn't mind trying a pair of the Platinum M. Ooh! I should check and see if I won the Powerball jackpot last night.

Our local SA only has Genesis Gold and Silver out at this point. Since the name changed to Sports Authority from Gart Sports, they have significantly de-emphasized the ski gear section of the store. There is about 15% of the space allotted last year for skis , and there are no boots goggles or bindings to be seen. The Sins were all gone before the end of last season.

You are prolly right on the dates, I just threw that out there quick. I was never good with dates anyway.

I have a pair of the 05 Platinums that I want to unload, they have about 12 days on them. Same dimensions as these new ones. They are aslo the synthetic core which was less suseptible to bending like the earlier wood cores.

What, you found a place where they had lengths? I would want them in 185s, or 190s, but that's even less likely than having enough money to buy them.

The longest it will be available in will be a 180.

It figures. Dammit, since they don't have the size I want, I can't get the ones with laser etchings of St. Moritz! :

FWIW, once you're on the product page, click on the box at lower right that corresponds to one of Pt/ Ag/ Au then, once the model-specific blurb is up, look for a hazy box that says "details", then use the upper-right box "drag" to center it for viewing.

Thanks for the effort of posting that, however, that site makes me depressed, so I don't think I'll open it again.

I'm confused: She's Carrying Her Own Skis!!

What's the point of being an uber-rich fashion femme without a valet?

Well, she is !

Full slide show in various inappropriate outfits here.
I can't believe I've actually googled for this...
Sweet slide show. Odd... she doesn't look anorexic in these pix, quite bangable, in fact.

No question, the winner is the black leather outfit. Damn!

It's ironic that a thread started by this guy

Ends with this girl

Volant history in a nutshell ?

They both wear cool shades, though...
Not that it matters, but have you ID'd the resort she's at?

Gotta be Courchevel with all the other limeys.

Puuutain...
Apparently Baqueira, in the spanish Pyrénées, which make sense, as Mr Posh Spice plays for the Real Madrid. (It's written on the instructor's jacket on the pic you reposted )

My quest for Victoria's pics revealed that she also ski at Meribel (with all the others limeys...).

Here you are.

I need some snow !

Call me mercurial, but I wasn't paying attention to the bloke in the photo.

Leather doesn't insulate much.

Her instructor (in 2nd pic) is wearing a hat, so I presume it's reasonably cold.

She's probably chilled to the point of perkiness

You have no idea...

I'm late to the party (very late in fact), but I couldn't stop laughing when I looked at the new Volant site. I can't believe anyone would even consider their skis now - Atomic has gone way off the deep end with this marketing tactic - it's all just so tacky now...
I still think they are pretty...
It really doesn't matter what you spend, if this is the bottom line.

Anyone for a Movement Analysis?:
Truth is, I hope she becomes a regular at skiing. The industry can use unabashed spending so I can buy cheap season passes.

What is that?

Now I know I'm just supposed to be appreciating the scenery, but I'm trying to figure out this picture. What is that strap that says Chanel over and over again? Maybe its a sling the valet uses to carry her?

Once again I'm stuck trying to understand this picture. Why does she have four poles?
