I have a difficult time being too critical of ANY ski area if it is run well. Being a life-long Minnesotan, I enjoy skiing regardless of the size of the area. It sure makes going to the destination spots a real treat though!
The only place I was disappointed with was Lutsen (see the "run well" statement...). They have THE MOST MISERABLE people-moving system I have had the displeasure of using. SLOW, SLOW, SLOW!!!
: And crowded. Considering they like to liken themselves a "world class" ski area (they compare themselves to Breck in their brochure), I think they have a LOOOONG long way to go, compared to the lift lines in areas like Spirit, Welch, Afton, Kato, and Powder Ridge. I think they may have some of the first chairlifts ever made! The lift tickets are a tad on the high side as well. The skiing is pretty good though! Best in MN.
