No binding reviews? :

Are there any new bindings this year other than the Salomon Z12?
Also notice how the boot reviews have been getting skimpier in the last few years?

Binding reviews seem kind of pointless now with the proliferation of ski / binding "systems" . i.e., the ski you get will only work with one binding. Seemingly the powder-specialty skis are the only ones left that will accept any binding.

I liked: how they (in SKI) listed the MSRP, and then [Flat] if it didn't come as a system. Seems like fewer and fewer come flat - but conversely more of the skis I'd want to demo do come flat...

But there used to be a section for JUST bindings. I just thought it was interesting.

If I recall correctly, there was a binding section in a later issue of both SKI and Skiing. There really isnt that much to compare these days, though.

I missed it. Maybe it is because systems proliferate now .

Not to hijack this thread, but did you notice how many ski/boot/binding manufacturers did NOT advertise in either Ski or Skiing's Buyers guide?
Maybe I'll start a thread on this when I double check the Advertisements.

Bindings? Are those the the things the hold your skis to your boots? Who cares about them? As long as my skis are flat and kind of match my boots. I could care less what holds them on to my boots. Thats why they make systems so all the colors match. Can you tell I'm having a bad day

I have never been a fan of Freeskier because that's just not my world. That said, I just got their buyer's guide (free subscription) and they basically kicked Ski Magazine's butt.

What jstraw said -- just looked through the Freeskier guide with my kids, and besides the nice pix, they had at least some useful information.
