I just tried clicking on someone's user name to see their public profile, and nothing happened. I thought I'd mention this shocking developement. :

So maybe it's just my computer? Damn thing's got more issues than Sally Jesse Raphael.

Younger in years perhaps, but aged in soul wearying experience.

I tried trekchick's to see how many posts a day it takes to roll up a post count like that, then, because she's a mod and I thought it might be due to that fact, I tried my own. No go. I'll try again now.

Edit: Of course, now that I raised the alarm it's working. DOH!

A mini? Didn't follow the link, did you?

None were as bad as the Dells, tho. And the batteries (in both the Dells and the Apples) were all Sony-made.

I'm pleased to say my Dell laptop doesn't have a dodgy battery. Just a snafu'd keyboard.

How many glasses of um......beverage, have you spilled on the keyboard?
My HP keyboard has had a few coffee mishaps

So, are you saying that because you "raised the alarm" that the mods have made a change, or that because you "raised the alarm", your computer has decided to work for you?

This time, FWIW, we didn't make any changes. However, VA did find a "bug" in my configuration of usergroup permissions a short time ago. vBulletin is not the most intuitive software configuration system I've used. I need all the help I can get! Thanks, VA, for pointing out when things aren't working as you'd expect them to do.

Computers present constant quandries for me to muddle through. On another vB powered website, the smiles will periodically stop working. The cursor just disappears when I click on a smile, and nothing else happens. A click of the mouse and the cursor returns.: The username thing has never happened before, but I think my machine is just "talented" in coming up with new and interesting ways to behave.

You know what I did? Learned to type the smilies instead of clicking on the icons. I use Safari which is incapable of the full editor that you can get with Firefox or IE, so it kind of forced it. But, you know what? It's easier and faster to type now that I know how to do it.

Coffeee is fine!

As long as you drink it with no cream or sugar!

It's the sugar that ruins the keyboard.

Point of information.

cream and sugar is for cornflakes--not coffee.
