Why do the peeps that make the commercials assume we're all stupid?
It's not that they assume we are stupid -- it's that THEY are stupid and don't bother to research what they are doing.
Here's another example....
Back about 10 years ago there was an animated commercial for White Cloud toilet paper. It was supposed to show this group of cartoon ladies sitting around a quilt frame and "quilting" the toilet paper. Problem is --- the cartoon ladies were using knitting needles as if they were knitting an afghan instead. Lemme tell you that it caused quite a stink on Usenet rec.crafts.textiles.quilting!
The incensed quilters sent many a nasty-gram, and it took about two months, but to their credit, the company fixed the cartoon.
