Well, after eight months of summer heat, several weeks of agonizing anticipation, nine hours in a very crowded car, and two hours sleeping in said car, I finaly bagged my first turns of the season at Killington yesterday! Despite the fact that the conditions were definitly what I would call spring like, the park was a little on the small side, the moguls weren't quite deep enough, our start was delayed by a lost wallet, I sweated my tail off, and came a hair away from losing my nearest and dearest in what has to be the strangest wreck I have ever had, it was one hell of a first day! After working out a few kinks and jitters, I felt like I was skiing better then expected for the first day of the season, especially after maybe two hours of sleep with a steering wheel between my legs. On the downside, I did take a huge chunk off the top of one of my skiis, the sole fell off my right boot and I lost a part of my glove. All in all the skiing put all of the bad crap that happened to rest and made it a great weekend!
