Poles are not required for good skiing, however most good skiers wquire them to ski well.
Bull, bull & more bull. You have never seen me ski, 1st off so that is a bold ignorant statement, secondly, skiing with no poles as a DRILL or practice can certainly be beneficial, so can skiing on one ski, but as a steady diest 100% of the time, it is ludicrous! (not the rapper either)
I will repeat , to ski technically correctly other then for practice or a drill you need poles, period, end of story!

PS How do you quantify a "better" skier anyway? He dresses sharper, has newer equipment, skis faster, looks better, is smarter????
