I put Nordica Grand Prix liners in my explosion 8's. The shells were replaced when I cracked my TNT's, but Tecnica didn't replace the liners. I made lots of phone calls to ski shops in 4 states and explained I wanted new liners and footbeds. Some of the folks I talked to rummaged around for spare liners in the shop. Thats what I ended up with. Somebody bought new Nordica's and wanted injected liners. His "old" liners, never used, were the perfect fit in my shell. In fact I like the Nordica liner fit better than the old tecnica liner. The best part is the guy in the shop tossed me the liners for free.
Good to hear about the Grand prix liners workingout OK.
Because I just did the same thing.
I had heard some great things re Zips, but the older ones. The new ones are a cork and oil bakeable deal. They are said not to be as good as the old injectable one. Cold hard, breakdown... are words I had heard about the new ones. Therefore, I was reluctant to spring for them and couldn't find a local or Tahoe shop that carried them, anyway.
Next season, Technia is to bring out a thermo-formable liner. So I wanted to get something to last me the rest of this season - maybe 25 more days and I'll either try some new boots or the new Technica liner next yr.
Still would like to hear a first hand critique of the cork/oil Zips, though.
