Wanted: Ski bums

Thread Starter
I am working on yet another version of the good old ski bum story for an airline mag for this upcoming winter and wanted to see if there's anyone on this board who is up for an in-depth interview. This was a short-notice assignment, so this has to happen in the next couple of weeks.

I would really LOVE to include a woman in this story. Is there such as a female ski bum? There must be!

I'm looking to go a little deeper than the usual fluff, and plan to do this story with humor and style, homoring the skiing lifestyle. Just to give an idea, the first guy I talked with became a ski bum after his sister died 5 years ago and he realized life was too short to not be doing what he really wanted to do.

Not every story has to have this kind of drama, but texture and color are important. Please feel free to contact me asap.

How about two girls and a guy? Those stories tend to be real "page turners"

I would be willing to be interviewed on being a :gear bum:.

Yes very true - what he's doing down under right now, making some $$. We have a family home near there too so it's convenient. It's a boarder haven for sure.

Don't go there!:

Seriously speaking, if you want to go local, husband and wife give up good urban jobs to move to Summit County. She opens fitness studio, becomes a writer, dabbles in acting and works a few days at Copper. He teaches at Breck, telecommutes with his former company in Boston and does more than just dabble in acting. Combined income is probably less than one quarter of what is one in Boston, and probably 1/8 of what it was in New York City. Reduction in stress far out weighs the reduction in income!
