Fair question.

06 Elan M999: Sold, gone, bought them too short.
07 Blizzard Titan 9: east coast soft snow ski and a west coast deep ski for my son, yes it will be skied
74 The Ski: Blue/yellow 185, might ski once..twice for posterity
80 The Ski: Blue 203, prolly not skied
07 Seth: 179, my soft snow west coast ski or a deep east coast ski.

Also, what was not purchased w/in this time frame..07 M11 B5 170, my east coast groomer hard snow ski.

In reality, what do I need past what I have now? Phamous (Phil's) last words.

When was the last time you went 3 months without buying a pair of skis?
ah, i see you're buying skis for the family, as well.

that makes the addiction a little more palpable.

i am eying a pair of 04 M:Ex's and a pair of 07 Bros. plus I'd like a hardpack groomer/ice ski and a super fatty.

do i need these?

prolly not.

but at some point it goes beyond what you need and becomes about what you want.

lucky are those in the industry who get to try everything and never really end up buying skis. ah, what a gig.

of course there are those envious of the fact that I haven't paid to go to a movie or see a conert in about 15 years given my profession as an entertainment journalist. i guess it's all relative.

booga-booga!

Well I must confess, it wasn't much of an accomplishment, pretty much a no-brainer actually, I'm good at those.

rather than go for quantity now that youve proven many of us right. why not try to find a ski that is sold out. My challange for you: buy a pair of THIS season's Mantra's, in say a 177. Good luck
post #70 of 77
Oooooo, madman has laid down the gauntlet.
Will Phil take the challenge?
If he does, will he succeed?
If he succeeds, what will be his reward?

Stay "tuned" (and waxed)for this continuing saga

If I was hung up on having a certain ski, I would find a way to get it. Such as the Nordie Enforcer, I wanted that ski in a 185 but Nordica didn't have any available on forms (Subaru and Nordica have an allience) so I ended up with the 999's then the Seths and some Vision 96's.

Don't forget the Titan 9's.

Phil can you look into your crystal ball and tell me if my ski purchases are over or under?
Just curious if you've been paying attention during class.
For me alone, not my husband.

Sure, they are over what they should be, but under what you want them to be.

Phil, I bought a cheap pair of M999s last spring that I haven't had on snow yet. They seem so soft I wonder if I made a good choice. Have you had them on snow yet? I'm saving them for powder days only. Steve

That's a pretty lame answer.

Steve,

Yeah, they seemed too soft and short, I should have gotten them in a 191 or whatever that longer length was. I sold them before I even took them out of the wrapper.
