OT - Popular forums

I realize that Epic can be a popular place in the winter, and right now, it's pretty slow, but I was over at MTBR today, and they hit their most users ever, 2 days ago, with over 6200 people on line at one time. As of right now, they have almost 5000 people on line, and they have almost 61,000 members. It's nuts over there. The Passion and General forums move so fast you can't hardly follow them. But for the size of it, it's a pretty well behave corwd (at least in the few forums I look at).

What's you user name at MTBR?

still a big fan of Bomber Online...

Uhmm...it's bike season right now. You can 'Mountain Bike' anywhere, no mountains required, no weather conditions required so the pool of people who participate is bigger. They are also all talking about gear not arguing about riding technique and 'instruction methodology as a religion'.

Same as here. SNPete. Makes life easier to have the same handle on the various sites where I post. I spend 95% of my time at MTBR in the Political forum. For some reason discussing bike parts at MTBR doesn't do much for me. That's just at MTBR though. Maybe it is because the political discussion there is so interesting and heated.

I just hang out on the Passion board, looking at the pictures (there are some really good phoptogs over there) and rummage through the General and my local forums. I don't post much, but made a couple of posts yesterday.

I have never looked at the political forum over there. I would imagine it gets pretty wild. I think I'll avoid it

Wild? Yes. Very wild at times. Our Hot topics forum is tame compared to MTBR's Political.

Take a peek some time. Watch Pete slam and get slammed. :

But there is also some very intellegent discussion also.

It's by The Slickers and it appears on the soundtrack to the 1973 film "The Harder They Come."

John,

I have the MP3's for it off the soundtrack for that movie. I'd be happy to share them with you so you can hear teh original version of that song. UB40 did not do it justice.

(Moderation note:

A number of posts in this thread have been removed by moderating since they discussed individuals and topics that have a history here at EpicSki and about which decisions have already made. Any similar posts in this or any EpicSki thread will be summarily deleted. I am sorry for the tone of this note, but this is serious stuff and we will treat it as such. Those whose posts have been delete have been PMed by me personally.

...I now return you to your regularly-scheduled off-season thread...)

Gill, I'd love to hear that sometime. Can you compress it and email it to me? It's been way too long since we've gone riding.

No, I posted it to the correct thread. We cannot allow discussion of banned members for a number of reasons, many which I am uncomfortable sharing publically given their nature. I'm sorry about that. I'm pretty much a "put it out there and let the chips fall where they may" guy when it comes to my own stuff, but this isn't mine.

Bogus Basin. Oops, sorry, I was doing the word association thing. My bad. By the way, that album is all covers. Some of the originals are great reggae classics. Oddly, the hit Red Red Wine was originally by Neil Diamond.
