Conditions at Bachelor are still very good with light snow still falling. It will be open through May 29th for those who still want to get their last skiing fix for the season.

Last skiing fix? 1.5 hours north of Bachelor is Timberline, which is open till skiing starts next fall (ok they do shutdown for 3 weeks or so to maintain the machines). On top of that Timberline actually maintains the lifts unlike the new management at Bachelor.

The big rub right now with Bachelor is a stunning disregard for maintenance, which has resulted in an unacceptable level of lift down time. This combined with a new found lack of interest in customer service is creating substantial unrest among long time skiers at the resort.

I would take Bachelor off of my "to ski" list until they get these and many other problems fixed.

Maybe because I'm not at Bachelor frequently enough, I haven't noted any particular problems other than they do seem to be having problems with the Pine Marten lift. There is a lot of good snow and no crowds which is why I thought it worth mentioning.

Word has it that PMS (Pine Martin) will be refitted this summer. It's about time, I beleive that chair has been in service since '83. Snowing this AM w/ 1" of new @ 22F.

In 2004 that lift had a spell of violent stops, and tossed some people right out of the chair. Their solution was to put up a sign telling you to lower the safety bar.

Have a good last run for me Slider!

Made a few runs. Almost a foot of new snow in some places! Winter is back. Next stop T-line summer ski. I'll post some pictures later.
