Sandia Peak tram vs jackson Hole tram...

The Sandia Peak tram outside Albuquerque has been in operation since 1966. The owners expect it to go another 40 years. Why is this tram still going strong and is this a different situation than Jackson Hole?

From the few times I've seen it and talked to the maintenance people, it seems they maintain it in a more preventative way than is perhaps feasible at Jackson Hole.

Also, I think they did replace the cables at some point relatively recently, and I don't think Jackson Hole has?

Europe is full of trams/gondolas way older than JHMR. I still don't get the shutdown on that thing. It looked way better maintained than some of the clunkers I went on.
