Fortunately the festival doesn't overlap with the ski season that much
I spent a long weekend there earlier this month. There's still snow on up on Mount Ashland, while the rhodies and azaleas were in bloom down in town. Lithia Park is just a gem, as is the downtown area, with galleries, restaurants, coffee shops, and all that good energy and vitality that seem to be present in certain college towns. It reminds me a LOT of Nelson, BC.
Ashland may be quaint, but I wouldn't exactly call it funky these days. Real estate in Ashland is just ridiculously expensive. I wish I could afford this kind of funk.
