Resort Slogans - Page 2

Steve, "Wanna Ski Wanaka" seems to be a thing of the past but Cardrona is "Naturally Better" because they don't have snowmaking yet. Ohau has a chairlift now instead of the T, other than that I don't think it has changed much in 15 years.
Have fun.

Whitewater, British Columbia

Pure, Simple, & Real...Deep

Fernie, British Columbia

Experience the Legend

(Too close to A Basin's slogan, IMHO, but, hey, it's in a different country.)

Red Mountain, BC

The Last Great Place

Whitewater may only have two lifts, but they have the best slogan in southern BC, IMHO.

Mt. Baldy, SoCal

"Real Skiing, Real Close"

also, "Lifties on Parole."

It's not exactly a resort slogan, but a few years ago the Taos ski patrol created a bumper sticker for its members that was as good as any ski area slogan I've seen: "Taos Pro Patrol: Romancing the Snow"

Alta, ut - Alta is for skiers

My favorite was for Brighton (UT) during the winter olympics, and evidently got them into some trouble. The billboards read "Brighton, proud sponsor of 0 Olympic events". I understand that they were forced to take the ads down.

Les 3 vallees :-

'Le plus grand domaine skiable du monde'

Understated in small letters at the top of the piste map.

For snowboarders whining about mad river, in blue the opposite of the normal "ski it if you can" red, "Mad River, I would ride it if I could"

Also at Mad River people take the bumper sticker and cut out the letters and spell out their own slogans on thier helmets. It takes creativity since you have a limited amount of letters. My favorite was worn by a 9 year old little girl, "Mad River is fun"

Two slogans that make me laugh are Magics and Pico's(Pre_killington) Pico was, "The Friendly mountain" nothing could have been farther from the truth. Magic's new slogan is, "The legendary Magic" which we mocked mercilessly in the lodge. But the locals had the last laugh as we did lap after lap on redline in nice soft powder with big grins on our face. How cool is that mountain when there is snow It's a whole mountain for you and the other 20 people who bought tickets to enjoy. Oh and Magic had horrid radio commercials all winter, "At magic, its all about the love"

Ski Liberty-- "Take a Snow Day" (at least this is what I think it is)

However, I would like to push for a formal change to: "Ski Liberty, Ski Free"

Some old official slogans;
Cannon, it’s a blast
Berkshire East.....ski the beast

Unofficial slogans I recalled from the Nelsap Forum;
Crotched..... ski the Crotch, it's hairy
Wildcat..... the big pussy in the sky

Sugarloaf/USA

Early 90's Sugarloaf had an ad campaign:

Sugarloaf/USA: One Big Mother.

No joke.

Lake Louise used to have posters and tshirts that said "Ski Louise's backside", with accompanying drawing of skiers descending a woman's err, backside.
I have an old tee-shirt from Keystone that said "Either your an ******* or your not". Not sure how that applied to Keystone but apparently the slogan was never mainstreamed and possibly why I bought the shirt so cheap.

Wachusett's jingle says, "Mountain skiing, minutes away." It should be "Minute skiing, mountain's a ways."

As seen on a liftie's t-shirt 2005-2006 season:

Ski Mud,
Ski Rocks,
Ski Liberty !!!

I actually did the first phrase of this "slogan" early January of 2006-2007 season at Whitetail:.

Bridger Bowl, Come here on a powder day, and you'll stand in line a bunch and get like two runs.

Aspen, The best place in the world to come ski one run, then go inside to drink wine and make sure that all the other rich people see the new silicone your trophy wife is wearing.

Big Sky, Big Rocks, Big Wind.

Vail, You'll Never Be Lonely.

ALTA - been told so many times - A Lot of Traversing Around

brighton - where Pow pow is swank

Brighton - Bad Air day - picture with some girls bad hair then her hucking a cliff on a board.

Solitude - 500 err 400 inch of snow put to good use

Grand Targhee - Welcome to Youphoria

should read every run is the same pitch.
Awww come on Bushwacker, You know the REAL slogan of Alta season pass holders is "I'll take Alta and give you the bird!!!"

One of my favourites is our local Caberfae Peaks
Longest Runs. Shortest Drive
under the slogan - You'll get more vertical to the gallon than any other ski resort in Michigan.

For the "city folk" driving north for a ski weekend, Caberfae is the first place on the way with a little more than 400 ft of vertical. However, its a local ski hill, not a destination resort. Fun to ski tho!!

Some old, maybe no longer used slogans...
"Gotta Ski" - Sunday River, Maine & Crystal Mtn., Washington.
"Snow made from heaven, not hoses" - Grand Targhee, Wyoming
"Ski it to believe it" - unknown
"Blackcomb - the mile high mountain" (referring to its 5280 ft. of vertical)
A few years later: "Yesssss, Blackcomb" - was stupid, but damn catchy (for a long while I found myself saying "Blackcomb" after every time I said "Yes!")
"Whistler Mountain, the Choice mountain" (referring to its variety of terrain)
and the sorriest slogan goes to.... Big White, BC - "It's the Snow" (guess it's better than: "It's the Fog")
