There is supposed to be one in Anahiem. I don't know when though. Hopefully it will be bigger, as we round-eyes need more space.

: Wow! Great pictures, ryan. Ever thought of taking up photography as a profession?
We have a couple of teeny skidomes in the UK - Tamworth Snowdome 150m and Xscape in Milton Keynes 170m and one in the offing in Beckton east London 200m in length. They charge 15 to 20 pounds per hour for open practice..
Happy New Year!!

Someone like the Travel Channel had a half hour show on this place in Japan. Quite interesting.

They charge quite a high rate, yet have to limit tickets at times. I think they're open at almost all hours year-around except for when they're making snow. They have a bunch of snowmaking spigots in the ceiling and they just turn on the water. The temperature and humidity are kept in a range that lets them just turn on the spigots and snowflakes fall from the ceiling. I can't remember what they do for grooming. One side of the slope is for faster skiers and the other for learners. I think they said the average fee for rentals and a couple hour's lift tickets was close to $100.

That's hilarious! I woulda thought that people living in topographically challenged areas would find something else to do. Hard to argue that snow sport interest is waning when we see that kind of thing.

Reminds me of a "ski hill" I once saw in Saskatchewan. The whole province of Saskabush is about the size of Texas, and has barely a contour line. There was this huge ugly tailings pile from a potash mine that they stuck a lift on, and called it Mt. Blackstrap. From garbage dump to instant ski resort (by the way, did you know Whistler Village is built on top of a garbage dump?). Where there's a will, there's a way...

Didn't the Chicago Parks Dept. have a ski hill on a mound of trash they called Mt. Trashmore?
