This site rocks

I stumbled upon this site sometime last fall, but I didn't realize how active it was until today. Sounds like there are some pretty commited skiers in here, and that is wonderful to see. I'm just saying what's up to everybody. I'm really pumped that this site exists. Also, I'm planning on moving out to Jackson next winter, and I would love to pick people's brains about that lovely, lovely place.

Welcome to EpicSki, Pilazzo. It does, indeed, rock!

And it's become quite a community, over the years. I thought I came in late, when there were just 500 or so members. It's nearly doubled in registered membership every year since then, and we've had more than twice that number on line at once!

It's a great place to just sit back and read others' opinions and thoughts, to ask a question (but with all these members nowadays, be careful what you ask for--you could be overwhelmed with responses!), or to jump into a discussion with your own 2 cents. Sure gives you something to keep the ski juices flowing in the off season. Just be careful it doesn't interfere with your real turns in the winter!

Can't tell you much about Jackson (I assume you mean Wyoming), but I'm sure you'll get the low down you want from some of the locals. I think there's a ski hill there!

Best regards,
Bob Barnes

A big Epic welcome Pilazzo and glad you like the place: Had my best season ever by meeting and skiing with people on this board who are from all over the country.

As to Jackson, there are a few members here who live there and I'm sure will offer their knowledge and opinions. Sen Bob Peters a PM as he lives there year round and is very active on the board.

Again Welcome!

Committed? You may find some are addicted!
Any way glad you found your way to our community. Be careful. The Ski bug is contagious

Yeah--welcome.

Be careful: all those extending their hands in welcome are like people giving candy to little kids...:

You should start a different thread titled something about moving to Jackson so you get feedback from the locals.

I've learned this the hard way. Apparently its genetic. Anyway, thanks for the welcome everyone. Looking forward to dealing with addiction with fellow junkies.

I felt the same as you when I first found this site. I think I typed "ski reviews" into a google search and it sent me here. I have met many great skiers and have learned so much. I check the site daily on the week days even during the off season. Great place to feed the need. Love the pictures especially!

I was searching for tuning info on google (the site is very well indexed by search engines) and for the past two years have found what can be closest described as my home on the web.

Have fun, and remember there are som harsh people here too (just like in the real world) try not to take them seriously, and when you do try not to respond too strongly. Better to ignore them and focus on us

Hey there, Pilazzo. I'm now over on this thread, so we can stop jacking MaggieH's thread.

Yeah Steve,
That upper bowl is fantastic, especially since its open at night. Tom Dick bowl is worth the short hike too.

I've skied some at Timberline, but mostly during the summer. I'm a big fan of Meadows. I think I like it more than Bachelor, but that's not really saying a whole lot because I'm not the biggest fan of Mt. B. I'm skiing there mainly because it is big, and there is a lot of people to ski with. The good terrain is pretty limited, but its there if you're willing to work for it a little.

hi memosteve and pilazzo, thank you for moving your discussion about your ski locations, being a Brit, I don't even know where they are, have not skied USA yet :-)
